The rain falls gently to the ground
Cleaning all with a soothing sound
It feels so good upon my skin
Freeing the little girl within
In puddles, she runs and splashes
Between raindrops, jumps and dashes
Her shoes are soaked--a soppy mess
She's having fun, she could care less
She giggles with a high-pitched voice
Dances in the rain, she'll rejoice
Until her Mama calls her in...
I look around with great chagrin
My shoes are sloshy...could it be?
Uuggghhhhh...my hair's damp...I'm all wet...whee!!
Think I'll jump in another one...
Can't recall having this much fun!!!

Rain poems. My favorite! No pleasure greater in the world than splashing around in nice warm rain. Nice memories.

If you look me up in the dictionary you will find this poem next to my name. ITS ME! thank you for putting me into such vivid words. Every puddle and rainfall has my name on it. Barefoot is the only way to be.katy. (giggle).
Oh Karla!! I loved this!! Wonderful flow and imagery!! And... I can relate!! Don't ever deny the child inside! Play when ever the "slightest" bit of impulse strikes!!
