Officially moved back into my new old apartment: it's b e a u t i f u l. :)

On the tundra, the ghosts
of herds thunder by in
silence, memories
of plenty forgotten.
A hunter squints his eyes
against the gathering
darkness, desperate for
salvation on hooves of
caribou that never
come.  He looks towards the
Northern Lights; the Spirits
have no answers -- they look
away.  Life can be as
cold and bitter as ice.

You've painted a beautiful picture with images of a period in history that lingers only through words written such as yours.

Well done, as man ever encroaches on the land of the Innuit the caribou herds like the bison and other great life providing sources of food are dwindling...this write captures the spirit of that loss.

Well, it is said, life is what we make it
but I don't go along with all of that..
Other lives can make it hard on one.
