Not my current state of mind; just releasing the Muse ...

Sleep comes hard.  Difficult
to get motivat'd
when one day is the same
as yesterday's was, as
last month's, last year's, with
n o t h i n g to show for them,
except pain.  Fill 'whys' with
excuses to do it
later, but later gets
later and later each
day.  It never comes.  It
hurts too much too move; it
will be here tomorrow ...
I'll get to it.  Sometime.

(c) 2007, Karla Dorman (7/22)

Perhaps a friendly arm around your shoulders can give the deflated emotional balloon enough air to bulge out proud again.
Depression some time don't need a prozac, just a good friend around.

It is easy to say do tomorrow what you can do today, but that leads to disaster occasionally. So we have to fight it. Victor

Karla, you captured depression well in this poem.
I almost cried...lol
Just kidding!
I have been depressed more times than I can count
and God was there each time to cheer me up.

Remember, don't put off until tomorrow what... In my youth I was terrible because I procrastinated so much. One day in middle age, I said no more procrastination (as regards jobs, work, etc.)! We must get things done! Here in our beautiful country we take so much for granted. I live abroad where for many people a day's meal is a challenge! Sad, but true. Cheer up. Keep active. Keep writing!!!

This is painful for me to read for this is often how I feel since my disabilities forced me out of a job I had for 25 years to sit at home alone. Add on a whole bunch of unexpected financial burdens and the health problems itself and yea depression is never far away.

Wonderful empathy here, Karla. Reminds me of me about half an hour ago!! :)) ... Like gently rocking your tyres back and forth when stuck in a snowdrift, just keeping putting one foot in front of the other and, at some future time, sooner or later, you will get over the hump and climb out of the ravine... just carryin on the Muse, here... Intuitive understanding displayed in your lines. TY Kate xx
