Homesick ...

Being apart, it doesn't
feel like it when I put on
Daddy's t-shirt.  It bridges
the distance between us with
sleeves that are too big.  It
doesn't matter -- I feel his
comforting hug from this far
away.  When sadness comes, all
I have to do is put on
his shirt to know he misses
me as much as I miss him.

Like a small girl wearing her mother's dress shoes, it's just as endearing to wear her dad's oversided shirt :) I know that homesick feeling! And so I don't come across as inatentive, I had posted a comment on your Haiku...I didn't see the title before I read the poem. :o) Take care, my friend and keep on writing.

I know the feeling. I wish my dad to return and he does. He's always there when I look for him. He's still as big as Texas to me and your Dad? The last time I looked my Dad and yours were laughing.
Love,
Susan

Hmmm, I sent my son some yanky tops that fit me, he gave them to his little brother, my little boy is now not so little, I ask for his clothes..lol

When you love someone like that, wearing their clothes does bring you closer...(Andy shuts up about what his ex g/f sent) But I never wore them.....Honest.
