We All Became New Yorkers

When we heard the news that a plane had hit one of the World Trade towers... we all became New Yorkers. When we watched the second plane deliberately running into the Towers... We all became New Yorkers. When we realized that America was under attack, our Nation, our City... We all became New Yorkers. When we saw the shocked looks of people on the street, we felt their pain and... We all became New Yorkers. When the Towers came down... first one, then its twin...we were devastated and.. We all became New Yorkers. When we heard that possibly thousands of people died, they became our family members... We all became New Yorkers. When we heard the FDNY and NYPD lost many of their own, who died trying to save others... We all became New Yorkers. When we heard about the tragedy, we all gave blood, collected money, did what we could... We all became New Yorkers. When this happened on September 11, 2001, it just didn't hit one city... they hit OUR City...and We all became New Yorkers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, being a New Yorker, I can say we did all become New Yorkers that day!
I have visions I would love to forget about but are burnt into my memories forever.
As the towers were. Being in the Air Force you will know more of the horror that happened than most people
and it shows in your writing. Thank you for being the brave honest person that you are. Love, Gregg

What a great write!!!!! I'm not an American, but as I was watching the news, I realized how all Americans had stood side by side together for each other. It was just sooooo amazing that the support and love that were shown. Each person carries his/her own heart, ready to give away to anyone who was in need. I was really impressed and moved.
