Another day winds down ...

Image (c) 2008, Karla Dorman

Poem Artwork

The hush of evening approaches on
vaporous tracks of color:  yellows,
reds, purples.  See them lead you over
the rainbow, to the home of the sun, to

the right of the moon - just over the
horizon.  The stars climb dusk and set
themselves on high, reminding the day
it had its time to shine, now go to bed.

I love the way this poem leads the reader on the same path as the moon, the sun and the stars. You do an excellent job of drawing the reader in and taking them on a journey right along with you.

...but before you did, going to bed I mean, you dropped your poem on the subconscious face so we can see the literary ripples.

Excellanto...I like the way this treats the sun in the heavens as a naughty child refusing to go to sleep.

Between your words and picture, you have captured the 'hush' as evening approaches. It is truly evocative.
