Poem Artwork

Outside, night chopsticks
the trees, stuffing all it can
into its terrible maw.  I hear
limbs snapping in the wind
(sounds like bones):  leaves
me wondering if mine will be
next on its menu.  The beast's
foetid breath stills the air within
my lungs, the walls of my shelter
claws eyes awake:  Phooey!!  Just
another baddream, one born of fear.
My heart slowly thunders back to life ...

Nightmares crawling from the dark corners to take over our peaceful dreams, a toddy laced with a good brandy before going to bed will make the intruders dizzy and happy.
Cheers! ! !
