The heavens are opened, shaken,
stirred, pressed down, overflowing
with blessings. Sight: the sky is a
perfect stretch of blue. Hearing:
happy songs of mockingbird and
cardinal fill ears full. Touch: air
cool, with low humidities. Smell:
Spring scents nose with delicate
perfume. Taste: the love of God is
sweet. Have breath in my lungs;
can walk, talk, think. The simple
things, what more? OverWhelmed.
Though we are little, exquisite pieces of nature. It continuously overwhelms our psyches with beauty and power unmatched. Most people overlook nature and never truly appreciate and enjoy all that it continuously offers us. Your poem shows you have the wisdom to reel in nature's unrivaled beauty.
I'm biased to anyone who takes cloud and sky photos, I used to back in the 80's but I'm leaving that dept. to you now! And what an "open sky" message. Your photo work must've brought on a personal and religious conversion back in 2006 (a lot of c. for that year)

Simply love the "wing" in the pic. My Yacqi ancesters certainly would have danced and rattled and done something (good, I hope) because of it. Wish I could have been there. Ummm, maybe I was.

I like this. I think it'd be stronger without the "So grateful" and "lovely morning" lines though... just skipping that and ending with "OverWhelmed" leaves me with a place to put those feelings-- what do you think? I do love that last word... especially after talking about the sky overhead. --Charlie
