I know this is going to come off sounging rude, but I think to credit this event as a miracle takes away from the superior talent and quick thinking of all the people involved. From the pilot to the tug boat drivers... all came together and performed their jobs perfectly. It took a lot of training and they all deserve credit for a job well done. A miracle indeed, but my heart really went out to all those involved, the passengers, crew and all the rescue workers who had to endure ungodly temperatures. This time of year, the Hudson River might as well be a block of ice, how frigid it is. God bless them all...

That pilot did some quick thinking that avoided a disaster. He deserves a medal. I should think in today's world of science someone would come up with a device that would scare off birds approaching an aircraft or at the least protect the engines. Too much to hope for. It's too simple. They can get to the moon but can't keep birds out of airplane engines. Is this world nutso or what?

Karla, did you know that the passengers of that plane had an ex Airforce flyboy? In WWII, Korea and Nam we said that they carried an extra ball, being floating like a kite up there and no a rock to take cover...

Yes, a marvellous event which will be cherished forever. When the chips were down an American Pilot hero saved the day for those on board, on Manhattan and in homes further way. Yesterday a HERO was born.
