honey, i'm just
calling to let
you know i've been
thinking about
you...are you there?
must still be in
bed...wish i were
there with you...no,
i've gotta work...
enjoy your nap...i've
gotta run, meeting
starts at nine...i'll
call you later, i
love you, hon--bye.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
honey? pick up--
something's happened--
don't know what's...i
think a plane or
something hit our
building...never
felt it shake like
that...nearly knocked
me over...they
want us to leave...
gotta run...i'll
try to call you
later...i love
you, honey...bye.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
honey? honey??
i can barely hear--
you're breaking--CAN
YOU HEAR ME?? i'm
goin' down the
stairwell, yeah, a
plane did hit our
tower, they want
us to get out
just to be safe...
oh God, someone
just said that a
second plane's hit
world trade two...i
love you...honey?
gotta go...bye.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
honey...i'm out.
it's bad...you have
no idea...both of
the towers are
burning...people
are...jumping...i
can't watch...oh,
God...the south...the
tower's falling!...
i've gotta go...
NOW...if i don't
make it...know i
love you, i have
always loved you...
i'm sorry it
has to end like--
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
that's it...the last
message on my
machine...the last
message from my
husband...he died
on september
eleventh...last
year...you see, he
got caught in the
collapse of the
south tower...they
haven't found his
body...they don't
know if they will
ever find it...
i just hope he
knows how much i
miss and love him...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
the horror, the horror...how many wives and
husbands received "the last words"? this
was written around a month and a half after
the attacks...(((HUGS))) and love to those
that lost loved ones...karla. :(

Excellent portrayal of this heart wrenching subject...We will never forget this day through adversity America stands up and just grows stronger!

this was very gripping it really made it real for those so far away.
I wonder if my friend was saying the same before the end

You call it fictional, but it very well could be truth. That Day is hard to put into words, but you did a very effective job. Thanks for "bringing it home to us!"
