The cane, a present from injuries
incurred in service. That's alright.
At least I can walk. Many others
not as blessed. Some didn't even
come home --- they went above and beyond, laying down their
lives as payment for the freedoms
we enjoy. Never forget sacrifices
made by those who serve(d) ---
I will always remember, 24/7/365.

that aren't kept;
tired of the lies
and all of those
negative ads!

Your service and self-sacrifice on behalf of your fellow human beings and your country will be always with you in mind, body and soul, Karla. May your powerful vote always carry the significance that such weight and passion deserve. Your country can never outdo your gift in repayment, but I sure wish it would make every effort to try! And the cane can never stop you from walking tall in your own eyes and in the eyes of all who salute you and your fellow service members. We are forever indebted. xx
I voted, and I can only pray and hope that the people voted with their heads and not just their hearts. Hopefully this will mean REAL change!

When we go to the voting booths today, let us not forget that it was a Republican President and a Republican House & Senate that put American Soldiers in harms way in Iraq & Afghanistan without making the proper provisions for the countless wounded heros returning home.

Karla, these two poems go hand-in-glove my dear friend. Without all of those esceptional young men and women serving selflessly and the veterans, living and deceased, who came before them. Our nation would never have existed nor this long endured. I/we can never thank them or honor them enough. And we the people are the ultimate power in these unique United States of America. It is our will that shall be done in the final analysis. Too long have the majority of Americans permitted the special interests to dictate to corrupt career politicians what our nation represents and how it functions. And we the people are slowly but surely becoming aroused, aware and involved in the business of our nation. Our single greatest leverage is the individual vote at the polls on each and every election day. Not simply when things are not going our way. Love and peace to you my dear friend. Jon Michael
