there i am--
snuggled up--asleep in my bed
i wake up--
put my glasses on my head
look around--
why do i feel i'm being watched
can't be that--
must be the affects of the scotch
darkness reigns--
can't see anything in my room
chillbumps rise--
why do i feel impending doom
there's a noise--
softly stirring the chill night air
i call out--
"who's in my room? tell me, who's there?"
low chuckle--
oh, God...there IS somebody here!
trembling--
my heartbeat quickens with the fear
suddenly--
a hand reaches out, grabs my throat
i'm choking--
can't breathe--i hear a man's voice gloat
"sleep in peace--
close your pretty eyes one last time"
feel the knife--
as it stabs--penetrates my spine.

In the End: Apocalyptic Poetry by Debra Kraft

In the end they'll all be dancin'--all them ones that didn't die.... Dance with me in the shadows amidst the lightning and the thunder, and all that nu-cu-lar debris. See the big bang from the other side, and then open that cellar door. Go down into

Inherent Chaos by Terry Vinson

The fortunate inherit riches, prestige, positive notoriety. Those not so lucky bear legacies filled with poverty, infamy or, worse yet, the unhinged insanity and murderous urges of their ancestors.
