it was a lovely september morning
and you didn't give us any warning

that terror would strike in an awful way
ripping into buildings--horror conveyed

you will feel the wrath of an eagle's claws

twin towers destroyed--forever erased
pentagon's damaged--our defense defaced

true heroes died--in their attempt to save
an empty field is now an airplane's grave

you will feel the wrath of an eagle's claws

thousands of lives disappeared--makes no sense
why is your hatred of us so intense

we must defend ourselves--you gave no choice
and you will answer to whole world's voice

you will feel the wrath of an eagle's claws

we will fight terror wherever it lives
by terror we will not be held captive

you have struck our cheek--now it is our turn
terrorism won't win--when will you learn

you can't escape the wrath of an eagle's claws

i wrote this a couple of days after the attacks
on the united states.

dedicated to those we lost on september 11,
2001, and their families and friends.

this is also dedicated to those serving in the
united states armed forces, and to our allies.
