karla, i know exactly what you mean, for i have been there (on the gettin' side, not the bullyin' side), and, believe me, years later i still feel the pain. i HAVE forgiven my tormentors, but i will NEVER FORGET!! glad you shared this; i think all victims of a bully's wrath needs to read this powerful, emotion-charged write! love, your twin, karen lynn. I cannot hope to add to the replies, they express all that we feel on this matter. I have told my girls that the children who bully are sad, mean spirits who take their self pain out on everyone else, same goes for adult bullies. Hollowed out and filled with self-loathing, striking out to bring some type of feeling into their lives...sadly.

Karla, powerful write. Words can go deeper than sudden hits from sticks and stones. The body can heal from that pain--but the pain from cruelly inflicted words can last years...
