i don't like remembering that september day
i don't like what i felt--terror, sorrow, dismay
i don't like what i saw live on my t.v. set
but i hope we remember and never forget
i don't like the way lives have been forever changed
i don't like not trusting others--it feels so strange
i don't like the empty space in new york's skyline
but i hope we remember what terror designed
i don't like not feeling secure like we once did
i don't like the idea of war--Heaven forbid
i don't like that the pentagon was damaged, too
but i hope we remember and learn from these clues
i don't like the nightmares that interrupt my night
i don't like the way my heart pounds away in fright
i don't like that heroes died in a midwest plot
but i hope we remember they for freedom fought
i don't like feeling so sad, bereft and alone
i don't like traveling very far from my home
i don't like the images that we saw replayed
but i hope we remember--forever--that day
i don't like having to explain myself again
i don't like recalling this...it brings me great pain
i don't like the anger that is trapped in my mind
but i hope we remember--and terrorists, find
i don't like remembering that september day

Great tribute, sentiments I share with you, i do however like to remember how strangers became brothers, and God was brought back into our life and goverment, but wish it hadn't taken such a tradgedy.

great write about the feelings we ALL shared that horrific day! i know I will NEVER forget; and i will ALWAYS REMEMBER THE 11TH of SEPTEMBER!! i pray NOTHING this evil EVER penetrates our shores EVER AGAIN!! write all you need to; your grief and anger is still very well apparent, and it will do you a world of good! love, your twin, karen lynn.
