Great compassion Karla! I did one month in a burn unit, it is the worst place to work bar none! Every nurse and doctor,felt this way too. You write so well about it.

Ugly is a word that is so compromising. The true beauty of a person is within and the people that deem superficial as a way to beauty are too vain themselves to worry about much less pay any attention to. Alas, the world is full of superficial people but the really good ones are all around . This is a sad insight into life and human frailty to selfishness.

Wow, Karla, brilliant write... Burn scars are rather ugly, the melted skin, cragginess and totally different outlook on life are enough to beat anyone down. I am unsure I could handle a tragedy such as this, it humbles me when people can overcome such odds and remain loving and caring. Kudos, dear lady. :)
