Boy, how I miss the good old days...

I can remember, when I was a little girl,
The games of my youth, in particular, baseball,
There was no stadium...someone's yard was just fine,
We'd play 'til the ump couldn't see to make the call,

No players with big egos, attitude galore,
No salary...didn't have to get paid for fun,
No fancy uniforms, no grabbin' at the crotch,
No disrespect, no big brawls, no corked bats for runs,

Things sure have changed since the ball games of yesterday,
O, how I wish that things could have remained the same...
I sure miss the good old days, when baseball was fun,
When players played baseball for the love of the game.

Oh Karla, I know exactly what you mean. I don't think kids are having as fun of a childhood as we did when we were kids and part of that fun was doing simple things like playing baseball.....smile Great poem!

Those days of lessened egos in the minds of ballplayers are sadly, no more! It is all for the money nowadays and no respect is left from the players standpoint, anymore.
Nice write, Karla.
