Without a second thought
Of the dangers they faced
Fire, police, and rescue crews
Entered that awful space
Where government buildings
And Twin Towers once stood
They proved beyond measure
They were the heroic good

While many of us sat

While searching for their own
In the midst of their pain
From losing their brothers
They did what they do best

Handlers (and their dogs), E.R. doc-
tors and nurses, and Volunteers that
give their all, no matter the time of
day or night, no matter how major or
minor the emergency, when a disaster
strikes, big or small (and when it hap-
pens to us, it's a big one), they nev-
er give up, despite the risk to their
own lives.
I honor their courage and dedication,
and respect them very much.
