Answering The Call

Thanks to the men and women Who choose to wear uniforms Answering the call for help Into heroes they're transformed Someone cries out in pain At an accident scene Answering the call for help Is an EMS team There's a house on fire Someone's little boy hides Answering the call for help Firemen go inside Someone needs E.R. care Injured, or taken ill Answering the call for help Doctors and nurses will Someone has just been robbed Suffered a vicious crime Answering the call for help The police force this time Somewhere disaster strikes A sudden storm goes through Answering the call for help A search and rescue crew And if a war breaks out It doesn't matter where Answering the call for help Our military's there Thanks to the men and women Who choose to wear uniforms Answering the call for help Into heroes they're transformed They do what they love best Despite the threat to their lives Answering the call for help The heroes have arrived They don't like the limelight But they're my shining stars Answering the call for help Superheroes, above par thank you for answering OUR calls for help (C) Karla Dorman, 2003

What a beautifully written tribute! At first I thought this was only going to be about the armed forces, but you've included all of the special, unique people that we all count on when we're in need. Excellently written! They would all be proud!

i love it, karla! thank you for paying homage to our TRUE heroes...those who serve to protect and help others in their time of need! god bless you, and god bless our TRUE heroes: firefighters, police, emt/paramedics, volunteers, and dog teams/rescuers and their handlers! they put their lives on the line each and every day, and they wholeheartedly deserve our utmost thanks and appreciation for a job well done! :D ((((HUGS)))) and much love, your twin, karen lynn.
