I remember like it was yesterday
Sitting in front of the television set
I was horrified by what I was seeing
O, I wish there were a way I could forget
But I see them--as I saw them on that day
What would I have done, if I were in their place
They weren't given a choice--burn up or jump
What were their last thoughts as they leapt into space
Freefalling, forever, and there is no end
Frozen in pictures, in nightmares I recall
The awful images replay in my brain
The Towers were not the only things to fall
I'd give anything, anything, to forget
But I remember...and in fresh tears, I drown
I only hope that they didn't feel much pain
That terrible morning when bodies rained down
God Bless
