'specially when the blue skies turn to gray
when the storms of live blow through here
there can't be no room for fear
and i'll laugh to keep from cryin' today
i am gonna...pray to keep from cussin'
stop this endless fussin'
i gotta change my attitude right now
let calm and peace run through me
instead of hate and fury
i will be a nicer person, i vow
i am gonna...be nice to my brothers
my sisters and all others
to all of the people sharin' my space
i can't afford to be mean
white/red/black/yellow/brown/green
'cause we're all members of the human race
i am gonna...vow to keep on writin'
pray for the end of fightin'
maybe together, we'll have an impact
God i certainly hope so
let these words grow and grow
let's do our part to change the way we act

live to keep from dyin'...
that is what i want you to do today
when the storms of life blow through here
learn to over-ride the fear
remember, blue skies always follow gray!

Karla, I am printing this one out and saying it upon waking every morning. You don't know how much I needed this. Hey, I think I'll say it before I sleep, too. That's when things really start to bug me and ruins my whole next day!!! Thank you, Karla! Love and hugs coming at ya....

Good down home cookin' sort of poesy. Ragged from the streets with a keen polish, like a street person who likes shoeshines. I liked this poem, it really would translate well into lyrics.
I think this is my all time favorite poem,I am saving this one for sure,this would be fantastic song you should try to get this 'Out there' one way or another.
I agree with the words totally and feel like singing it...I want to hear a tune for it (my computer has no sound...worst luck...)
