Raise us, Lord,
Raise us like windows in this nation
Very high, if You would,
Higher than ever
So that breezes will be sure
To come into our rooms
Refreshing them
High, so that the freshness
Borne by those breezes will cool us
And cool others who come near us.
Raise us, Lord,
Raise us like giant flags
High and colorful
So that we’ll wave in winds
That are warm and strong
We’ll sometimes point north,
Sometimes south—
Sometimes we’ll point east,
Sometimes west
And all the passersby below
Who see us up there waving
Higher than ever
Will pause and smile,
Will say, They’re waving,
Look! They’ll say,
They’re waving at us down here!
Yeah, all those flags
Then those passersby will just smile
Each one at the other
And before continuing on their ways,
Will each wave back at us
They’ll each wave back
At those colorful flags they see
Hearty waves, theirs will be—
Hearty waves of love.
Yeah.
In the city where I grew up, there was this man we called "The Waver" because he traveled the streets of the city, by foot, waving at everyone who passed by. I think it's a nice gesture, like a smile, and who knows when that may be exactly what someone needs in their life at that point in time ... just a friendly confirmation that you exist. That's what your poem reminded me of.
Love & Light always and in all ways,

However, it will take a stiff breeze, maybe a tsunami.
