.

I live in hell

Harbor hatred

And envy

Find it difficult

To give

Of myself,

To say the least

I’m sick and tired

Of hearing about the poor,

The sick, the handicapped,

The addicts and losers

Whom we’ll always

Have with us

I don’t give a shit

About them and their

Plights

Why should I?

They don’t give

A shit about me

Do they?

They never have and

Never will

It’s also why I live alone,

Miserable in this stinking

God-forsaken place

It’s why my spirit’s

Mere skin and bones

When it could be fat

And Butterball happy

I’m a soulless shit,

Was born a shit

And will die a shit

Hail Satan, the Leader

Of this place

Where I live—

Hell of hells

In my mind,

In my screwed up mind.

Feel better? LOL! I don'tmean to laugh, seriously, Been there and said som of that. But I have to say the devil does not live here. He lives only where he is welcome. Nice rant my friend!

You have captured the attitude that many have today, one of self only, not worrying about others! I think you title says it all, for those that feel this way it must be a miserable life! A powerful write!

You could have called this poem "Life" too. At first glance, I thought this poem severe, but after looking at it again I see how applicable it is to my life and many people I know. It's straightforwardness is what gives it it's shock. Very well done. This is unique and powerful.

Gritty, foreceful (attitude) and honest writing. I wish your muse unending peace.

Yes, I know some people like that, they numb out what makes them uncomfortable and justify that they have so much while others have so little, is very unChristian... turning their noses up to the poor, the homeless and those without healthcare... but eventually that boomerang comes around and hits them upside their Fu**ing heads! Sounds like a good description of what a republican has come to mean, these days for sure! Thanks for letting me vent :-)~

Great write!

Wow! I was feeling this way yesterday, but today is a different story. No way, am I going to go down without a good fight! "Hell" don't get that satisfaction from me.
(I’m sick and tired
Of hearing about the poor,
The sick, the handicapped,)

I was one of those poor, sick, bum-knees individuals, once.
I like this write because we've all been there or felt like this. This is a strong write delivered with grit. This may or may not be about you per se. I write about domestic abuse and fake friendships and it's NOT about me, I write about how I feel. Sometimes there are whispers to my soul and etchings in my mind...then I write it. Thanks for sharing this with us. It makes us ponder about ourselves and what ticks us off.

Hugs,
Pier

This poem is like a swift kick in the balls.
Powerful and diaphanous!

I am sure, Randall, that everyone alive has experienced these emotions and frustrations, you speak of, at one time or another in their lives. I commend you for having the courage to share these feelings. I truly believe the first step to healing is confessing.

I hope the mental storms will pass soon ...

I like the gut honesty of admitting when you feel this way. I read once where someone was scolded for feeling bad when they had a broken leg because there are others with no legs and the answer came back yes but they aren't MY missing legs and the thought of that does nothing to relieve my pain. I hope the feelings will pass. Good poem, gut wrenching.
