Fearless Hunter
She’s a fearless hunter …
Stalking leaves on the balcony
from behind glass. The tail
flits, jittery and tempting others
to chase. She sits there on the
sill, waiting …
Her attention span is rather
short. She’ll play but only
for a moment before running
off to chase some sort of spot.
A rolly polly she is! She’s a
happy house cat and her belly
shows it …
She purrs and chirps, kissing up
while in the kitchen. She’ll trip
you for attention, wake you at
three am purring in your face.
And lets not forget, the bathroom
sink, seems to be her favourite
place!
But, most of all, is her voice,
while waiting patiently for her
catnip.
I've been had (no one 'has' a cat)by five cats in my lifetime. First was paddington, an orange tabby/persian mix. He went out one night and never came home. Next was Paddington II, also an orange tabby. I had to give him away when I moved because the new place didn't allow cats. Then I moved again, this time to a cat-friendly place and Bogey was the name of the cat I lived with there. Then I moved again to a place that didn't allow cats and had to give Bogey, a black and white american shorthair, away. I was catless for some time until I moved into a house with two other guys and two cats, Sydney, a grey american shorthair, and Holly, a calico. I moved from there to where I live now where again(!) there are no cats allowed. I'm moving from here soon to a place where at last I can have a cat. I'm so looking forward to it. They make the best companions as far as I'm concerned.
Much better than dogs. This is a wonderful poem you've written! Bogey used to curl up in the bathroom sink too! wow! He also used to contentedly lap up soapy water from the tub. He was a very strange cat. But I loved him for it.
Wow. All those moves. It would appear that I'm quite the gypsy. There are the moves I mentioned and more! let's see... In 29 years I've lived in 10 different places! That's about three years in each place. And five cats. And now I'm moving again and getting a cat. That makes 11 places and six cats. Help! I can't stop typing! lol. Anyway I really enjoyed this poem. It brought back a lot of fond memories.
