I saw you today ... there in the distance
and my heart sank.
My voice left me as I went to shout out
your name across the miles. Now, I
just sit here, with Rachmaninoff on the
radio and ponder the heartache that
creeps in over my soul.
Let me lose myself in the music so
that I might not reach for the darkness
which dwells just below my feet
as I teeter on the edge of this precipice
I now walk along once more.
The music, it begins to consume me
as I twirl, and pebbles break free to
travel down below ...
... crescendo ...
I'm trapped in an operetta of my own
doing ... my own tragic love story
as the main character is condemned
to an eternal damnation of soulless
divinity.
Hear the obo play mournfully now
as I tip toe through the dead roses
and tearfully remember the love
we once felts ... the cello now sounds
and the viola sings softly, so melancholy.
This is my grief stricken heart that
dances onward upon this cliff.
Please, let me fall into this nothingness
that stretches out so blissfully before
me with open arms. I'll pretend those
arms are yours and I'm falling into you
for eternity.
I saw you tonight ... from a distance and
now I weep for eternity's embrace.
