This poem is about pain but more about a realization of trying to let go.
You once held me in your arms I was so small so fragile so new You once told me you loved me I who couldn't understand and you never knew You once hurt with those arms I wasn't small yet fragile still You once told me you loved me I couldn't believe you and you never knew You once held me with your pain I was grown yet fragile still You once told me you loved me I will not believe you and you never knew You never knew mother you never knew.
