Betrayal

Fireflies dance in my head.
Memories of a happier time.
Pessimism blankets my heart.
Fears of betrayal beckon deep.
Turning on the mask of happiness.
Faking an air or contentment.
Thoughts running with rapid haste.
Shivers of disbelief creep slowly.
Wild eyed and angrily amused.
Darkness casts it heavy shadow upon hope.

Allow the light of hope to shine eternal...betrayal is the ultimate sin yet can be conquered by faith in onesself.
