Tortured he stands alone,
Shivering from anxiety.
Anxiety over yesterday,
Anxiety over tomorrow.
What's next he asks,
Already knowing the answer.
Paralyzed by his inabillity to say no,
His days and especially nights are filled,
With regret, resentment and self loathing.
For caring about others feelings,
To the detriment of self.
He swears someday the cycle will end,
Not holding his breath,
Till that day comes.

Excellent description of Anxiety! I don't think the cycle ever ends it just becomes less intense. If he learns to say no the torture will subside. Take care, ~Chessly

WHOA! I See a person who "enables" who pacifies! And leaves his Feelings Last! This person sounds hurting and I hurt for their lack of strength, Wisdom and Choice! This can cause undo Stress! I pray they STOP being walked on, so their Growth is shown and Happiness in Life\Love is there's once again!I really do care and this person is Important too!!! Great Written and Felt Poem Walt!
