His Smile

Poem Artwork

Came the man,
Broken in spirit,
Without love,
Seeking a quiet place,
To rest a weary soul.

Looking into space afar,
Testing the universe,
But the universe tested him.
Tormented him ceaselessly.
Solace and peace,
Always a whisper away.

Then she came bringing joy,
Teaching him to accept love once more,
And bringing him the peace,
His heart had prayed for so long.

A mere woman yes,
But also an angel.
She loved him despite his scars,
Her words soothed him,
Her touch gave him security,
Her love gave him rest.

His days now filled with laughter,
His nights with love.
His smile has slowly returned.

Love (when willing to accept) does turn us around, no matter if it is a child, spouse, Grandchild or pet. Love it!!! xxxx

Heavenly! This so teaches us never to give up - either on hope or on love for even if we have had a rough or raw time of it so far, the potential for change exists even in the next moment... just as soon as our Angel On Earth shows up - and we all gotta have one, right?! The choice of picture is priceless, Walt; the facial expression says it all and if the subject of this poem feels as "born again" as this young chap, then what a long life of carefree joy and new-found innnocence lies ahead. Beautifully progressed thoughts and I love how the language seems to open up and the lines lengthen and breathe as the sunshine appears! Bless you, Kate xx

Walt, from the place where man intersects with peaceful destiny, the gifts of joy are issued. You have now obviously journeyed to that place. Give thanks and know that a man may only be granted one such visit. Reach out to the hand extended in love and peace, hold onto it tenaciously. It is good to know you are on the mend and ready to seek some of life's gusto. Peace, joy and love be always with you my friend. Jon Michael
