As poets and thinkers we have
So much to help mankind,
But they don’t listen.
We pour out insightful rhymes,
To make people feel, and think,
Still they don’t listen.
We take them far beyond themselves,
And show them the pathway to the mind.
We give of the depth of our souls,
You'd think they would listen?
Fuggid aboud it.
I would tend to agree that 99.99% of poems are quickly forgotten, even by the writer. But every once in a while, great poetry, like that of Bob Dylan and the Beatles, strikes home and changes the world.
