My relationships

I was raised with hard rules and told that I should be fair to everyone in my life
and this should apply especially to my wife.
This I did and expected the same in return,
but it just isn’t so and boy soon did I learn.

I was a very happy person and liked to joke and be funny,
but that was before I knew that my wife didn’t love me just my money.
It hit me hard when eventually I found out,
that our hard earned money had been moved into her private account.

That was the past and I thought I had learned,
I would be careful in the future with whom I loved and what I earned,
but worse was yet to come and as I watched my new honey,
I tried to assess was she attracted to me or just my money?
Well times got hard and the money was low,
so my partner found someone else who had money to show.

Are all girls the same or is it just I who wrongly choose,
now I am alone with nothing left to lose.
I try to keep going and try to be strong,
do I look for someone new? Or again will I be wrong?
