Poetry served as great creative therapy to vent the total frustration of the insanity in the world. I lived through Viet Nam era insanity, but the current "political" climate makes my blood boil ten-fold in comparison. So I channeled that energy and voila!

Fear and Loathsome Ignorance

In a world gone mad, but not in a good way,

I retain my sanity, by writing some poetray.

Ignorance is in control and evil’s been given the nod,

it’s up to us, there is no God.

Fear is healthy, there’s no doubt.

It’s the current manufactured kind that I’m concerned about.

Ignorance is lack of knowledge and most people are ignorant of the facts;

preferring to consume social sound-bites through internet interacts.

Fear is the tool which evil has depended,

to control the masses single-handed.

Wilhelm Reich theorized peoples’ need to be dominated and led.

Fear of that truth chastised, destroyed, and jailed him until he was dead.

I believe in fairy tales and Santa Claus, there’s no harm in that,

no one ever died from philosophical discussions over The Cat in the Hat,

but belief in certain imaginary friends and discussions thereof,

have led to war and the death of millions all in the name of love.

Fear of non-acceptance; seems everyone wants to fit in

fearlessly accept yourself from within.

The country’s divided in two, it’s a shame,

but when ignorance is in control which is to blame?

Hope; expectation and desire.

Make a final wish then extinguish that childish fire.

Change; feared as bad, is how it’s usually seen,

embrace the unknown, soon enough it will be the routine.

Fear of God by God-fearing people;

how spiritually-uplifting to be under their steeple!

… and while on that subject, …

God Bless America, if she must,

but let’s pluralize it and be just.

Or better yet, let’s put all fairy tales to rest,

it’s time for intelligence to reign – the best!

If not, then know this, …

… my people; the ones not under the spell,

we’re only 15%, but once united, we’ll give ‘em their hell!

So, with the use of the history-proven percentage for successful revolution;

humans will have the opportunity to move toward illumination,

… and become Knowledgeable.

Profound very profound write. Ignorance is great in this world but knowledge is to be gained by reading and observing too. We must all try harder to learn and obey and get right with our God. Religion never hurt anyone.
