Today’s Sin Eaters, Yes You
Oh , the poet’s curse to be called to feel all the woes of the world Today’s sin eaters Always in pursuit, of something Better A world cleaner Purer The dreamer take away the pain erase the darkness Swim in the misery Soak in the pool, of the Shadows of suffering gathering the sadness Up Into our Dream of A better world Washed away with words Rainmakers of cleansing Armed with pens Pain cast away Into the four Winds Take away the hurt take it all Away oh ,the curse To be a Poet Snassano09-16-07

These words so true but who needs the world's pain when your stupid enough to create a caldron of your own? Those writes of mine just ooze out and poetry is a way of cleansing my feelings. So I guess then there are poets who take on the worlds sorrows and those of us too busy selfishly creating our own! Well anyway, enjoyed it! Thanks for being the better half......Deborah:)
It seems that poets see the world in a different light than most. Maybe because we march to a different drummer, or maybe because we don't march at all. Being perceptive and imaginative enough to put feelings to verse ain't all that easy, it is a gift to be nurtured and treasured. Poetry doesn't come from a class in creative writing, it comes from the heart of the poet.
Deeply moving poem that shows the poets bane, yet the glory too that can come from knowing you made a difference for the better at times.
The duality of life is ever present...Thanks for sharing! Excellent work!
A curse, because it is sometimes a compulsion, a driving need, to set into poetry the passions of your heart for another person's pain....oh, but what a blessing, to learn that you have provided the balm that helped soothe, even heal, the wounds of life.
To me, the writing itself is a blessing, and I am often surprised at how the finished poem helps me through a hard time, too.
Wordsworth observed "Poetry is born not in the mind but in the heart overflowing with feeling". This you have shown with inspiration in your excellent poem Stan. Waves of love }}}}}}}} Barbara
A very powerful write my friend...often I find that when I am hurting the most I can sit with a pen and paper or my laptop and pour my heart onto the canvas, through words I feel a cleansing and reviving of my spirit. I often have experienced this through the reading of other poets, their words touch my heart...helping me to sort through problems and pain, helping to rid the sadness and make the wrong right! Powerful offering my friend, enjoyed the very depth of it!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
You know, you're right??? Have never thought of poetry this way, the writing/RIGHTING of all the world's injustices...thank you, this moved me in a profound way. So much so, I'm saving this one.
The gifted and fascinating Urban Poet, Asa D Seeley, once again speaks. He introduces a New Genre of Poetry...Reality Confrontation. Juxtaposed with Essay and staying true to his unique style, Asa brings a breath of...fresh air...to the world of poet
