I can feel the misunderstanding, the difficult moment between a parent and child. As a parent, I read this with already a feeling of gilt 'what did I do wrong?" "or couldn't I have done this differently? Typical torture of the loving parent.

Huey Long once said, when asked what he was gonna do about mudslinging is a particular election. He said, "Aw hell, jest let the mud dry and you can just flick it off, if you wipe it fresh, it smears."
So sad. When the tears are from a youngster it hurts twice as much for me. Adults are so hard on kids these days. It's compounded because adults don't even care to listen to kids. Then we are amazed when these children grow to adulthood with apathy as their guide.
