Inner knowing!

The little schtick!

A little tiny shadow

Just barely visible under the door

A hushed little creature

Now looking at me with big eyes

Her sweet little ears up

Her little tail curved like an S

Over it’s little back

A wee tiny white belly

I thought a mouse

Again, inside my house

How could this be?

The last ones they did flee

But then immediately

Stopped watching  myTV

This can’t be

And checked to see

A handful of cheese

Under the door I squeeze

Just for a tease

Come back I said please

And sure to my liking

Around the stairs it was hiking

My senses exciting

The next scene inviting

But alas faster than me

With the cheese it did flee

Almost with glee

Happy and free

You little bugger I said

I’ll get you yet

Don’t you fret

My trap I would get

I placed it fair

Just under the chair

It would find it there

Like the lion lair

God knows how these little creatures know

If all it’s cuteness it would show

My hunting senses it would slow

And put away the bow

Innocent it came to me

Just a wee baby

Sat on my shoe so free

And made its plea

I said my God you little devil have no fear

To come that close and near

Look at me so dear

More cheese, I heard it clear

My heart melded into sweet

Got up and got its treat

Why fight what you can’t beat

You are so cute indeed

Such innocence I would reward

Of hurting not be part

I should have known it from the start

It’s just not in my heart

The pied piper I would be

Instead and set it free

When the green back in the tree

Till then let it live with me!
