The American Humane society wanted a story on how pets impact our lives, in a spiritual way, that's what I sent!

Poem Artwork

Like on a cold and wintry day

Blizzards in my soul did play

It froze it into ice and clay

No goodness it could sway

Lost in misery and without light

Full of hate and full of spite

Full of rancour and full of fight

To evil hell I’d glide

Full of sickness and full of fear

To all a stranger who came near

No one dared to call me dear

Further on to hell would steer

Yet in days of yore I’ve heard

The good books every word

Stories of much hurt

Though they seemed absurd

Nothing touched me in the heart

Only sounded true in part

Looked to writings and to art

A dozen prophets and odd bard

Played in mental aberrations

To find other heavenly stations

None of them brought me elation

Or real loves sensation

A miracle a star

From heaven came afar

There in the naked of my breast

She builds her loving nest

Melted all the ice with zest

Now with love was blessed

The beauty of her love did bear

Where she made her lair

Destroyed all bitterness and despair

Again I learned to care

Her soul and eyes were dark and wise

She never told me lies

Never ever with my love play dice

Never made the cock crow thrice

She never ever spoke a word

Yet she had a language of a sort

A special language from the lord

She taught me with great sport

And now to heaven back she went

Where there a helping hand will lend

More lessons does she always send

Until my days will end

Help with the little critters here she says

To love and care to me confess

For angels you will bless

Say not No to love, but Yes!
