Tormented ghosts!
Ghosts, ruins, and smoke
Here and there a column or two
Through stone and empty windows poke
The burning sky to woe
Screams of moms and dads, no one hears
Screams for their children’s live
Little ones and tears
Arms reach to the sky
The innocent are burning
Breathe heaven and hell
For sanctuary yearning
Are there victors
It’s hard to tell
Sirens and screams, death, and ghouls
Showers in the white house for the wars heirs
Not wash the dirt from their souls
Righteous they gloat in their chairs
Some hide behind the bushes
They come in pairs
To direct their ambitions
Cowards all the war to stall
Need fulfill their vision
Yet of Christ they speak, what gall
One especially in that minimal bunch
His name it starts with C
All this is just a hunch
Who in that bunch would be?
Shoots friend and foe alike
Just on a friendly stroll
And takes it all in stride
As if it was his goal
His brilliance it has blinded him
He cannot see his sin
Obtuse are too the others
His vice is out to win
Consulting not he bothers
Those left with grief
The child and mother
For them, there’s no relief!
