It's never what it seems!

 The little mole within!

The little mole within, just like me and you

Wanted to come out of the dark and see

If what you say is true

There is another way to be

In his youth he did hear stories

From other moles like he

The world and all its glories

If he could only see

He asked himself how they would know

They know not more than me

How would they know that light does glow?

If they like him they cannot see

He was certain they were teasing

Or stories of blind faith

Others talked of reason

To figure out the maze

He would think about it in his sleep

And daydream in the day

In barrooms hold discussions deep

But conclusions would delay

Consumed with fervour in his passion

To find the light of day

With buddies in barrooms theories trashing

His curfew would delay

Out late one night he came home drunk

And suddenly he seen the light

Something went kaplunk

Something did his forehead strike

The wife irate and mighty peeved

With rolling pin him pound

Him, of all his doubts relieved

Enlightenment had found

Being of scientific mind, it would not take him long

To make this wise connection

To see the light, you’ll feel a dong

And need the wife’s rejection

The lord works wonders in this way

To show the world who’s boss

Angels might, in full display

If you their mind do cross

You can find the light, in many ways

But always keep in mind

To mind your yeas and nays

Or a rolling pin you find

To show the world who’s boss

Funny and relevant at the same time.
Every time I attend a wedding I always get the groom aside and tell him the two words that make a succesful marriage are...Yes Dear.

That would explain why I've continued to hit myself in the head with the "hammer" of reality all these years. Because, as the old joke goes:
It feels so good when I stop.

Sounds like my conscience, and sometimes you learn the hard way that you shouldn't have done what you did. - Like the time I came in past my curfew [as teenager], grounded for life, almost!

God bless you. Kathy

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
