free speech is a democratics country most precious assets!

God bless the country that is free


And says its prayers so to be


Free of censors tyranny


 


Yet there among them always are


Those take their rights to far


Inflict a wound or scar


 


But not like physical abandon


Leave life and limb be wanton


To scars of flesh succumb, verstanden!!!!!!!


 


It’s better to throw fire, with words or lyre


Than fan the flames with swords attire


Fight battles in that mire


 


 


When rhetoric is couched in lies


True argument defies


An action most unwise


 


One should say what’s true to him


Not couched in lies or whim


If liberty to win


 


History’s scars in graveyards lie


For liberty to die


The freedom to ask "why"!

Asking 'why?' has ever been the provenance of the free. And each day we diminish in number, overwhelmed by the whims and wishes of the manipulated masses.

Your poem is heartwrenching. I hope this is not a premonition of things to come, but one can't help but wonder about all our tomorrows.

All should speak the truth for liberty to win and indeed be given the freedom to ask "why?"
