All is quiet on the western front!

All is quiet on the western front

The storms have passed

Time with a hundred years abscond

Yet the memories will last

And then another wave and flood

Of young blood that slain

We have not yet forgot

To fathom death and pain

But just a few years later

From south to north

Another war did cater

Another oriental force

And then it wasn’t long

Knee deep in muck and jungle

Fought the Vietnam cong

And yet another bungle

A bit of meddling here and there

Some islands big and small

And in the southern hemisphere

On Cuba nearly dropped the ball

Now we’re in Afghanistan

Looking for some beard

That fled the place and is long gone

Our soldiers he so feared

Iraq set of another spark

We didn’t like Saddam

 A short walk in the park

A mother of a scam

And so we don’t get bored

Iran is on the plate

Making nukes it has ignored

So far it’s just debate

Now I betcha six to one

If that don’t go

We have to check that mighty Yuan

Before it kills our doe

It seems it never fails

To keep the tanks from rust

To keep our soldiers tough as nails

 Need enemies to fight, we must

Buckets full and pails

For that we money got

To spent on wars and jails

While lots of vets do rot

It won’t be long and I’ll be told

When all the young are gone

Gear up and join the fold

We need not brains but brawn

And those that left behind

Not with the brawn but brain

Must be deaf and blind

Or just a bit insane!
