Let's help those that cannot ask for help, those that have no voice and cower in dark, cold and in abandoned alleys, lets hear it from us that can speak with their special gift of poetic tongue, and then in turn help those on the frontlines to help!

Those that cannot speak! Where are those little ones then? Adopted all by the homeless? Or are they alone like them? Without shelter and food But not just at Christmas Anyone give a hoot? Like Christ cherished every little lamb Should not us that profess his name Or is it just for us, we give a damn? True friends they are to man Mirror our souls in the darkest night Help our self us understand Innocent are born, without our sin Angels be with wings Closest are to our kin Why not your Christmas tree adorn With a donation you made So they too are snuck and warm Even just for Christmas week To give suffering a break To those that food and shelter seek On Christmas Eve your heart will know A light will shine in you To bring your soul a glow As Jesus to god is kin We are kin to his creation Open our hearts and let them in? That manger where he lay A message brought to earth Why not do, what it had to say? 30/11/2007

I like that you reminded us to care for all God's creatures. Never thought of donating to the local animal shelter, but will, now, do so.

Bravo! Well written, but eminently more important: well meant! A call on behalf of the most deserving creatures...be they dogs, cats, birds...or human.

Wonderful work, Jasmin Horst, and truly offered in the spirit of Christmas.

There are so many shelters for stray animals which would appreciate just the gift of a bag of dry food, a bottle of bleach, paper towels...if not a few dollars. (Or as much as you can spare, of course)

There are also the homeless out in the cold night...a bowl of dry food can help a few survive, especially on the porches of empty houses. You can always remove remains as not to encourage rats etc

Precious pic, and you're right: they cannot speak, but show love, unconditionally, even when we--the supposedly intelligent species--throw them out or abuse them when the cuteness wears off. Well done.
