A killers requiem!

bringin home a cruel world!

 A killer’s requiem!

Underneath my window bank

What cause is there to lay the blame?

Or the cause divided rank

The end is just the same

A little darling birdies blood

Upon my rise at morn

Pure virgin snow besot

Gave rise the Gods to scorn

I helped their little lives to ease

Throw extra grain and feed

Yet not I feed the hawk to please

Or do his dirty deed

A cannibal that with his beak

And cruel talons tear

His cousins’ death does seek

Of him are not aware

Shall I become a hunter then?

My heart is so enraged

And give him what he gives to them

Don’t like to be upstaged!

I salute You, Poet.

You give creedence to the concept of how chaotic and "unforgiving" life is on this planet, Jasmin. No matter how beautiful "nature" is; death lurks at every step of the way. Thank you. Love and peace,

Regis

Many times in our kindness we unwittingly give the predator a diner, with food in place. No need for remorse or revenge. Nature does what it does. Smile, and say I helped the food chain on up the way.

But you would care for a starving near death hawk, wouldn't you?
Around here we have an array of small birds and a gang of ravens that take pleasure chasing the little birds from a few grains of korn.
Me too thought more than once of shooting the bastards...until we got the visit of a sea hawk which found his lunch ready with slow flying black vandals with small birds too fast to go chasing.
As you see, I didn't need the rifle...

Beside Still Waters by Jill Eisnaugle

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
