Someone takes the lead, is it you?

A cynic’s view!

The fat cats get the votes on fat Tuesday

The ones with the bags of money,

For us it’s just another goose day,

Better get used to it honey

Maybe you don’t feel it anymore,

Have grown accustomed to it now,

Or, from the last time you’re still sore,

Maybe even, liking it somehow,

No matter what the terminology,

When you are getting screwed,

You either are, the goose, or goosy,

To say it other, would be lewd

You know, you get it in the end,

Centre right, or left,

Or any other blend,

Much choice leave you bereft,

Bent over, and spread eagle,

They got you by the balls,

No way, you’re looking regal,

Not you, that makes the calls

It’s just another presidential term,

No matter who gets in,

A donkey or a pachyderm,

Sure one of them will win!

Your poetry is evolving very well as you broaden you spectrum. Well done.

How so sadly true, especially these very sad days.

What about a zillion man march on Washington and kick the living shit of everybody, Congressmen and Lobbyists and blood suckers, up to Pen 6000 and take a swing to Halliburn-oil Vice-something puppet and that one so corked "mission accomplished" and all their cronies....
Yes man, I also have a dream, that all the veterans, even those in wheel chairs and crutches, marched up that damn avenue and reclaim our country back.

Absolutely brilliant because it a way it does not matter anymore who sits in the President' seat because the machine put in place will continue to run with or without. Perhaps our presidents have become figureheads just as many leaders in countries around the world. Nice to get to read you again......

Be always safe,
Karen

You got that right! I often wonder what it will take to make it all change, but always end up knowing the answer is a negative...

One of them will win, that's what's sad. How 'bout REAL change: keeping campaign promises, remembering whom they serve? THEN it would be worth it to vote. I'll vote...but not for any of the candidates. I'll write one in. :) Excellent points in this one, Jasmin.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
