Where and who? is the monster that takes food from a childs mouth?

In the midst of plenty!

                     Mommas and babies starving should
                     In the midst of plenty,
Their little hands stretching for food,
A tiny grain of rice, just a bowl,
One more day, to feed tummy and soul,

Who you say, is eating all their food?
Plenty there was a year ago,
Not someone on purpose take it would,
Surely that be a most heinous crime,
While I, on plenty dine,

Worldwide famine not unheard,
Only years ago,
Still it sounds absurd,
When miles of food we grow,
And plenty for next harvest sow,

Who is using all this food, if not hungry mouths?
What is hiding in that cave?
Is there, some hungry monster on the loose?
Can you call it by its name?
Or, should we our leaders blame?

Soon we will consume our own,
To ravage all there is,
Chew from hunger flesh and bone,
Our species loved ones, bit by bit,
If we don’t start to give a …………!

2008, progress, technology, transport, plenty of everything and yet, we still hear of hunger and disease, of poverty and greed, of genocide and tyrans in power, of children dying for lack of milk, of enormous fields of opium poppies but not of wheat or rice..........

Oh, Jasmin-Horst! This is much too sad and dark for your soul to be writing. I know how much you want to stop the horrors of the world, but don't keep the horrors within you. Be Happy!
Love, Micke

She Intrigues Me, Revelations Of Love by Jon Willey

If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
