Saved twice by an Angel!
An angel first to me appeared,
When fate my life had seared,
In among a flower bed,
A halo, silver hair, her head,
Crumbled hands reached out to me,
A smiling face did see,
She squeezed my face to hers,
With hugs and kisses me immerse,
A crippled angel though she was,
Had lost all that she loved, the cause,
Paralyzed because of stroke,
All she had now broke,
War ravaged and frail, yet proud,
No memories she’d pout,
Love she’d pour, and freely, part,
Overflow into my heart,
Brahms lullabies and flowers,
In Chopin’s notes took showers,
And soul food did she cook,
The scarcity forsook,
She know what she remembered,
The olden days dismembered,
The house that I was born,
Was gone and now forlorn,
But being owner of a bar,
That time left many happy scars,
Stories she could tell,
Of heaven and of hell,
On her knee, tall tales I heard,
Had in her times occurred,
Much did she know of many things?
Yes, much still in my ear it rings,
But what I remember best,
Her love she me impressed,
And then before I knew,
She off to heaven flew,
Two years I was, and then at four,
God opened heavens door,
But back and forth she flew,
My heart to her I drew,
Then knowing what she knew,
She sends me an angel true ,
A little bundle white,
A loving heavenly light,
She knew to her I would surrender,
And with my life defend her,
My love to her I have betrothed,
No more a soul so loved
This be pleasing to no end,
To all in heaven, time would spend,
To Angels love there is no end,
All wayward souls will mend.
