Same old Same old!

Canada day!

It’s all down hill from here,
We’re running out of beer,
The franks have gone already,
The only one that’s left is Freddy,

Come to think, I have some rye,
So Fred and I will have a try,
It’s tough we heave a sigh,
To be the darned dry,

The music’s down, and early light,
Creeps over the night,
A black pussy along the fences white,
Then runs, we gave her fright,

And as the glimmer of the sun,
Light into the yard does run,
Now see the mayhem we had spun,
In all that good clean fun,

With gusto and good cheer,
We rearrange the chairs and gear,
In the distance, what do we hear?
Back comes the gang, with some more beer,

And soon, the sun it sets again,
Just like a songs refrain,
And another night we tame,
Such weekends have a name,

Now the neighbours join the fray,
Bring more food, and drinks our way,
We bid them all to stay,
After all, it’s another Canada Day!

Sounds like there was a lot of beer 'tasting?' going on, why is it that you wait until the holiday is over to invite us to the party? That's what I want to know, eh?

Cheers,
Dan

I lived and worked in New Brunswick for 2 years, in the seventies. In St Johns, by the reversing falls area. Loved every minute of it! My best to you and Canada, dear Jasmin!

Happy Canada Day, eh? Love our northern neighbors, even when they send us the cold and snow they don't want - too bad they can't do it in summer, to cool down the oven that is Texas - it's HOT out there!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Happy Canada Day, sounds delightfully like you had a lot of fun. 4th of July for us but I might celebrate alone this year, Tom is gone since Aug, and noone has any plans for me. Oh well, will eat a burger at the table outside where he died. Loneliness does bother me, but sometimes it has to be.

Glad to hear you had a good time on Canada Day; and tonight, I just might have a little rye, myself! And, of course, a Moosehead; I like Canadian beer, too.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
