Pure white linen!
A poison arrow,
Flew from the ground,
To kill the sparrow,
That made the sound,
It sang its chirping tune,
Relentless and with heart,
From sunrise till late noon,
But poison filled a dart,
Not glorious was the creature fine,
But sweet and innocent it was,
Dropped some poop on linens line,
The call of nature often does,
Perfect is every bird and bee,
That’s how they’re made by God,
Just like you and me,
But then there was this sod,
He could not bear,
His wife his ear maligned,
Her constant curse and swear,
Her rage it drove him blind,
Poor little sparrow died,
Not of his poisons arrow pain,
But he her poison lip abide,
Before she’d drive him near insane,
White linen in the light it glows,
A sparrow when alive it sings,
But in the dark who knows,
Now just a broken heart and wings
That’s how they’re made by God,
Just like you and me
I've always believed the bird and bee part, but it becomes harder every day now to believe the perfectness of we humans.
Georg
and you wrote this poem with such an easy flowwww Jas!
Thank you for sharing, this sad starkly true poem, I know a few neighbors who feel this way with dart guns/etc.
SO WRONG! and there So BORED and STUPID! for playing such games with Mothers' natures and God's creatures! Innocent is right, just flying, fleeting and landing...
