How you treat the least among you, did I not hear that said, by a person with much moral insight

Hell on the back forty, and in some pet stores!

Whimpering crates of little lives,
All boxed and caged without escape,
Cruel minds and hearts don’t care,
Their little lives they rape,

Wailing little pups not loved,
Are just raised to make a buck,
Thousands behind closed bolted doors,
For help, they’re out of luck,

The law protects these men and women,
Enshrined is their right to hurt,
To do whatever pleases,
That’s why in court, they’re curt,

Don’t care what others say,
However, don’t you dare to tell?
Protected by an ancient law,
Your life will make a living hell,

I wonder why it is, that they can hurt,
Freely, and without reproach,
For who is going to talk,
Or, will the critters coach,

Little pups we love so dearly,
Are they considered livestock in Quebec?
And treated with disdain like them,
A nation civilized, the question begs?

With farming methods of today,
It is sad enough we’re so unkind,
Senseless greed holds sway,
To their suffering we are blind,

This enlightened species, the word alone,
Reeks of overtones of over ripened cheese,
For our sins, instead, we should atone,
Stop treating another species as we please.

You said it right, Jasmin. We are charged with stewardship of the world and other species, and not with disparaging them to our pleasure and gain...Jerry

So very sadly true, and nothing will change, unless we all make it change, and denying them their profit is the best way to do it:

DON'T SHOP - ADOPT.

If everyone did that, these atrocious puppy mills would cease to exist very quickly.

Say, now that many of them, "business in pet stores," men & women go bankrupt...can we put them in those little cages so we can sell them as fertilizer and make a buck? after all, any business is business and that's the American way!

Thanks for speaking out and exposing them Jasmin! We need more
like you and Ed,who are aware of what's going on. People need to know they can turn these animal abusers into the authorities and something can be done!

Love,
Eileen

Well said, the puppy mills and pet stores that buy and sell animals with little regard for their well being or care should be shut down wherever they are found and the owners prosecuted fully.
