How to loose ones headgear,
In this bitter cold up here,
Two hats now gave away,
So little creatures warm could stay,
In Montreal a woman and a pooch,
A tiny little mooch,
Freezing booth of them in protest stand,
In unison our song did rant,
From a puppy mill that dog had brought,
In her arms with ne’r a thought,
The little fur it had a tease,
For winters cold and freeze,
Quick up I ran and took my hat of wool,
To protect it from the cool,
My heart though warm, my ears were ringing,
From bitter cold and frost was singing,
This be the first I gave away,
But now another for today,
I keep on buying hats it seems, more often,
Another one I shared the cold to soften,
Discussing poetry we were,
But most people that go there,
Just a coffee to imbibe or two,
My two friends and I were too,
Were talking about the wee mousy,
About Robbie Burns and poetry,
My two friends are Scot you see,
About his womanizing we’d agree,
He must have heard us from up high,
For now our Eyes did spy,
This Georges blonde with bosom
In front our window blossom,
A darling pooch wrapped in her arms,
And cuddled in her charms,
But not alas its little fur,
The bitter cold defer,
My new bought hat I took, and went outside,
This little beast, from the cold to hide,
I kissed its little nose,
To a treat got awful close,
To this detail my friend’s attention did not fail,
They would laugh and they would wail,
I wrapped this creature small and cute,
So delicate, and such a beaute,
A treat it was, to be so close,
Such a beauty would have froze,
Both are warm now and delighted,
For my efforts should be knighted,
I keep on buying hats that’ for sure,
Such little creatures hold allure,
To keep them all from freezing,
Ach, I’m only teasing.
