Dear lord the things one frets about,
Hear I am building a crash proof box,
Just in case, with all the comforts of home,
Patting, pillow, re-enforced, and of course perches,
If there is going to be some sort of mishap,
It will protect this little chap,
But I should’ve known,
For someone that’s forever flown,
Boxes, cages, and that sort of thing,
He did not want to be in,
I relented, took out some cherries,
His favourite treat,
Put them next to me, on my seat,
And viola happy he was, munching,
Pooping in mid traffic,
I thought the same, but,
And so on our way we were,
Driving toward the east, toward the sun,
That pleased him to no end,
Promptly flew to my shoulder,
Squatted there sunning himself,
That’s is where the rest of the trip he’d spent,
Reassuringly he looked at me I swear,
When I worried about the tires, the bearings,
The noise seemed to get louder every mile,
I couldn’t help but smile,
A very good patient he was too,
But the good Doc said there is nothing she could do,
The repair might instead bring more despair,
To leave it be, and only if, and we should wait,
It got worse, she would amputate,
Examined him and clipped his nails,
A clean bill of health he got,
Registered now, he is as patient,
He’s got a Vet,
I could ask no more instead.©11/09/2009
Blessings and Love and "peep-peep" to you and BooBoo! - Micke
I thought the same, but
Wow - you thought of pooping in traffic, too??!!
Glad to hear you didn't, and very glad to hear that little Boo Boo is doing well. And since you named him Boo Boo, should we call you Yogi Bear? (Boo Boo was Yogi's sidekick in those marvelous old cartoons!)

What a man you are! Loved every inch and word and phrase of this odyssey of rescue and repair...loved in particular, "Pooping in mid traffic" absolutely graphic and very funny. Not to worry, repair may not be an option but friendship doesn't need mending in this relationship, solid as rock.
